Many empirical studies have shown that the business value from investment in IT projects can be greater than the one being currently achieved. Thus it calls for specific focus on IT governance in order to reach fusion between business and IT goals. Good IT performance management should enable the business and IT executives to understand how IT is contributing to the achievement of business goals. The paper addresses the issue of representing IT governance best practice frameworks as ontological metamodels. Special attention is dedicated to VAL IT framework, which represents a comprehensive framework to maximize business value from IT investments. The paper points out the necessity of analyzing, comparing and integrating IT governance frameworks in order to complement different knowledge and generate ontological metamodel of IT performance management. Scope of our work is in the static aspect of the framework and as the metalanguage Extended Entity/Relationship model is used.
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems handle a huge amount of data related to the actual execution of business processes and the goal is to discover from transaction log a model of how the business processes are actually carried out. The authors' work captures the knowledge of existing approaches and tools in converting the data from transaction logs to event logs for process mining techniques. They conduct a detailed analysis of the artifact-centric approach concepts and describe its constructs by the ontological metamodel. The underlying logical and semantically rich structure of the approach is presented through the model definition. The paper specifies how concepts of the data source are mapped onto the concept of the event log. Dynamics NAV ERP system is used as an example to illustrate the data-oriented structure of ERP system.
Cloud Computing (CC) is a technology that surely brings innovations in today's business world, more and more companies around the world are widely incorporating this technology into their businesses. From a technical, as well as organizational point of view transferring enterprise IT to the Cloud is a complex task. Various factors have to be taken into consideration in order to make a right choice when moving IT services to the Cloud. The goal of this paper is to identify and to discuss in detail all factors that influence organization's decision to adopt Cloud. General model for Cloud adoption, introduced in Pantelić et al. [13] a , consists of the key factors driving the organizational benefits when moving to the Cloud. The purpose of the model is to support decision makers in evaluating the benefits, risks and costs of using Cloud Computing. In this paper the general model is extended with two new aggregation methods for harmonization of alternatives rankings in a group decision process. We present the results of two new methods using the method results from previous research [13], as rank inputs, into an aggregate (group) preference. The idea is to find consensus ranking that minimizes disagreement among previous methods results. There were no strong differences between the results of performed methods. The results have shown that Software as a service model and Storage as a service model dominated according to not just arithmetic-mean method, but also to geometric-mean method.
