This study aims to describe how the application of Talking Chips learning model to improve motivation and learning outcomes of basic culinary art students of SMK Negeri 8 Medan. This research type is Research development. It consists of four stages, namely the stage of planning, development, implementation and reflection. The data collected in this research is students' motivation and basic culinary learning result. The results showed that the Talking Chips development model on basic caterers was validated by material experts and detain learning experts. From the validation results by two designers of learning, the assessment of 90.63% was obtained, while from the validation by two material experts, the assessment of 97.35% was obtained. 2) Based on the result of questionnaire of students' responses that have been done, the learning model of talking chips on the basic learning process gets 90.9% respondents stating that the learning model of chips attracts attention, increases interest in learning, motivates and looks interesting so that the learning model of talking chips is effectively used as a medium of learning on basic culinary art learning.
This Community Partnership Program (PKM) generally aims to assist Business Groups in making Serundeng Kepah as a typical Tanjungbalai dish in making this product utilizing marine food or natural resources in Tanjungbalai City. Partners in this PKM are Business Groups in Pantai Burung Village, South Tanjungbalai District, Tanjungbalai City. The problem faced by partner members is the lack of knowledge in managing and utilizing existing natural resources as a product of the Tanjungbalai food development business. The method used to achieve the objectives of this service activity is the method of education, socialization, assistance in product manufacture, and business management on products that have been produced. The results of the activities, an increase in the quality of human resources in knowledge in the management and utilization of local natural resources and business management; Serundeng Kepah Products as Tanjungbalai Specialty Food; and Logo Making, Packaging design and product IPR.
The Higher Education Curriculum oriented to the KKNI (Kerangka Kualifikasi Nasional Indonesia) is mandate for institution to make educators present professional learning to produce qualified graduates. Research on the development of teaching materials of Micronutrient Metabolism based on KKNI curriculum and contextual content has been done to improve the quality of learning in the Nutrition Study Program. Research and development method consist of initial analysis, development, validation and implementation (trial) was used in this research. Validation results based on the National Education Standards Agency (BSNP) showed that teaching material that has been developed was categorized as very feasible in content (3,39), language (3,50) and contextualy based (3,50), while considered feasible in presentation (3,25).
This research aims: to develop a website-based patisserie learning as an independent media learning media for UNIMED Culinary Students Study Program. Research located in the Laboratory of Culinary Education, Universitas Negeri Medan. The subjects of this study were two media experts, two materials experts and 20 students. Research was done in July 2019 -October 2019. The method used in this research is the Research and Development. Data collection techniques in this study used a questionnaire. Questionnaire Data collected from material experts, media experts, and students were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the results of this study in the opinion of the experts on the material aspects of the feasibility of the contents including good criteria, on the presentation aspects including good criteria and on the linguistic aspects Including very good criteria. Based on the opinion of the media experts on the aspects including the very good criteria, the aspects of the negatives include the very good criteria. Based on the opinion of users/ students on the material aspects, Including good criteria and the aspects of the display, including very good criteria. Results of this research is based on the websitebased learning media includes both criteria as a medium of independent learning for Unimed Students.
This study aims to determine the process and application of cake decorating learning tools in improving students' critical thinking skills. The results of the study indicate that the Inner Case Method-based learning device has met the validity criteria. Based on the results obtained in the field, there is an increase in the percentage of each data in the field from the simulation stage then an increase is made at the trial stage. Based on the data analysis, the learning device developed meets the criteria with a validity value of 3.86 which means it is valid without revision, a practical value of 3.32 which means a high level of practicality, and can increase the average critical thinking ability test score by 74%.
