Borobudur temple in Indonesia as the largest temple is the ancestral filled with meaning stored in it. both in terms of shape, dimensions, levels, and reliefs. The reliefs depict an ongoing narrative between the panels with other woods panels forming the course of a story. To learn the hidden meaning in these panels can be used several methods. one of which is a method of iconography. with this method in order to obtain proper perspective to understand the background of an object being observed so that helps provide information on the history, politics, and life at a time. so as to know what the meaning is stored in one of the panels. Candi Borobudur sebagai candi terbesar di Indonesia merupakan peninggalan nenek moyang yang penuh dengan makna yang tersimpan di dalamnya. Baik dari sisi bentuk, dimensi, tingkatan maupun reliefnya. Relief-relief tersebut menggambarkan suatu cerita yang berkesinambungan antara panil satu dengan panil lainnya membentuk jalannya sebuah cerita. Untuk mempelajari makna yang tersembunyi pada panil tersebut dapat digunakan beberapa metode. Salah satunya adalah metode Ikonografi. Dengan metode ini agar dapat diperoleh sudut pandang yang tepat untuk memahami latar belakang suatu objek yang diamati sehingga membantu memberi keterangan mengenai sejarah, politik, serta kehidupan pada suatu masa. Sehingga dapat diketahui apa makna yang tersimpan dalam suatu panil tersebut.

ABSTRACT The design and development of chess set products into a part of the development of design in the business world, especially children's games. But the current chess sets are less varied. Generally chess set that there is only a royal and has a black and white color without any introduction of Indonesian culture, especially batik East Kalimantan. The current chess set also rarely has good storage so chess storage is not neatly arranged when the game is over. With this in mind, a designer tries to create a better item with new innovations. Like designing a chess set that is easily understood by children, designing a chess set that can introduce East Kalimantan batik culture especially Dayak Kenyah batik, and designing chess sets that have aesthetic value. In this report with the title "Set chess for children with batik motif east kalimantan" gives a new alternative in the development of furniture design especially chess sets. With the design methods that have been done include: data collection analysis, design alterrnatif, design development of selected alternatives, and final design. Gabin biscuits is one of the typical food of Samarinda. A visit to Samarinda is incomplete unless you bring gabin biscuits with you. In carrying the gabin biscuits, a container is accommodated. This container is commonly referred to as packaging. As snacks by local specialties, the packaging of course contains various kinds of illustrations that convey information needed by consumers and producers according to predetermined needs. The city of Samarinda has another identity that is different from other regions. So that when bringing the snacks to the area of origin, consumers will know that the person is from traveling to Samarinda. This is what packaging makers need to capture whether their product packaging is able to display regional identity. With the regional identity displayed, it will introduce the Samarinda area, which in turn will increase people to visit, so that it will indirectly increase the flow of tourists. With the design development method, the packaging of gabin biscuits in Samarinda was studied whether it was fulfilled in displaying regional identity as local identity. As a comparison, gabin biscuits packaging from other regions and other packaging that meet these specifications are used. The results of this study obtained data from the study which was used as the basis and material for developing gabin biscuits packaging designs as souvenirs that could display local identity as regional identity. The gabin biscuits packaging in Samarinda was examined whether it fulfilled in displaying regional identity as a local identity.
