The events sector is continuously growing, driven by economic development and increased spending on leisure. As events may generate a large amount of waste, an environmental impact assessment is increasingly important for any event. The importance and necessity of this has recently become more significant not only from an environmental preservation perspective, but also from a social responsibility perspective, and from a marketing and public relations perspective. This paper presents a study carried out with the objective of creating a model adapted from the ServQual to evaluate the quality of the service provided with events, complementing the model with an environmental sustainability add on. Based on an action-research approach, a model was built that was developed and applied to small events in a Brazilian municipality. As the main result of this work, this approach allowed to create a way to measure the event quality, considering the gaps between expectations and perceptions of the client, adapting the ServQual Model to an event-type service. Moreover, it allowed the inclusion of an environmental sustainability dimension to ServQual. This adaptation of the model introduced new managerial analysis and was considered relevant by event managers. This study extends the application of service management tools to the specific domain of events, building on the perspective that event management shares a great deal of characteristics of services.
In this research article, we present a methodological proposal for improving the process of monitoring public works using quality management. To do this, we have reviewed the monitoring process carried out by the National Education Development Fund (FNDE) during the Proinfância program. We adopted a case study based ondesign science researchas a methodology. This article presents the phases of the literature review, a map of the current work monitoring process, a survey and analysis of the data collected with the current process and a methodological proposal for the construction monitoring process. As a result of the work, a new flow for the work monitoring process is proposed, consisting of internal procedures, work routines and collection tools. The proposed methodology was applied to 15 works, and the results were analyzed.
Brazilian higher education uses traditional learning methods centered on the professor and lectures. However, active learning methodologies have recently been gaining ground, especially in courses in the health area, due to legal guidelines for their implementation in Brazil. At the same time, the use of active methodologies in engineering education to optimize learning results is already widespread in several countries. In this sense, this chapter aims to propose a structure that addresses the interface between the agile Scrum framework applied to education, known as EduScrum, and the active learning methodologies to develop a more applied and results-focused approach. Thus, the scope of this work includes a review of the literature and the structuring, application, and evaluation of a hybrid method adequate for training engineering students for modern technological advancements. Finally, the results obtained, as well as a roadmap, are presented to guide the application of the model in other learning contexts.
