Brown tumor of the pelvis associated with hyperparathyroidismBackground: Brown tumors of bones are an uncommon manifestation of hyperparathyroidism. case report: We report a 35 years old male presenting with pain and paresis of the left superior limb. Part of his humerus was excised due to a diagnosis of a giant cell tumor. He was admitted again to the hospital due to pelvic pain, malaise and constipation. A right cervical nodule was found. Laboratory evaluation confirmed the presence of a hyperparathyroidism. The biopsy of the pelvic lesion disclosed a brown tumor. The patient was subjected to a parathyroidectomy and the pathological study of the surgical piece showed a right parathyroid adenoma and a right thyroid papillary micro carcinoma. In the postoperative period the patient had a hungry bone syndrome, which was adequately treated.

Leiomyosarcoma: a rare renal tumorIntroduction: Renal leiomyosarcoma is a rare tumor constituting 0.12% of all malignant renal neoplasms; the clinical presentation is highly variable. Clinical case: We report the case of a 68 year old man who presented with right back pain; CT scan (computed tomography) showed a large mass located at upper pole of the right kidney. We performed a radical nephrectomy and resection of a right basal lung node incidentally found, the histopathological and immunohistochemical diagnosis was a renal high-grade leiomyosarcoma with metastases to the lung.
