Master courses need to have a practical element, applying already known concepts to concrete problems. In this paper, the design and manufacturing of a radio link using APRS protocol over AX.25 will be presented as coursework during several lab sessions. The aim is to create a system that is able to poll data from several sensors and send them wirelessly with a software implemented signal generator in a microprocessor.
The measurement of magnetic fields is a complex activity, which can be of significant didactical value. The interference of the numerous sources of magnetic field around the measuring site requires a deep understanding of the fundaments of electronic instrumentation and the particularities of the measurement of magnetic fields. The proposed experimental setup , which makes use of a 3-axes magnetometer controlled from an Arduino board, also gives the students the chance to practice embedded programming.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
