The main objective of this study is to simulate the daily change of the particulate matter (PM10) concentrations using a multiple linear regression (MLR) model for the selected sea breeze cases in Split and Kaštel-Sućurac, which are situated in the central part of the Eastern Adriatic coast, for the period from 2007 to 2009. A new predictor characteristic to the daily and nightly part of the coastal circulation is included in the MLR model. The MLR model results well match the PM10 concentration measurements during the selected sea breeze cases in Split (with the correlation coefficient R2=0.77 and the index of the agreement IA = 0.89) and Kaštel-Sućurac (R2=0.65, IA =0.81), and they also match the measurements during land breeze (for Split R2=0.66, IA=0.86 and for Kaštel-Sućurac R2=0.66, IA=0.70).
Correlation coefficient of 0.81 between Sava River flow through Zagreb and precipitation in Ljubljana points at dominant significance of precipitation. In the warmest months Sava flow is very much dependent on evapotranspiration. Sava River flow has downward trend, and two intervals can be sharply distinguished: 1926-1959 and 1960-1995. That is the result of the identical precipitation trend at the Upper Sava. There is the trend of atmospheric pressure rise in the entire observed period. "Precipitation continentality" is characterized by change of trend. Share of "summer" precipitation has been declining since 1960.
Rad se bavi prostornim razlikama varijabilnosti padalina u Središnjoj Hrvatskoj. Varijabilnost padalina analizirana je za osam postaja za koje postoje dostupni podaci za razdoblje od 1950. do 2007. Sve postaje imaju kontinentski pluviometrijski režim. Godišnje vrijednosti srednje relativne varijabilnosti padalina u istraživanom prostoru imaju relativno mali raspon. U većini je postaja maksimum varijabilnosti u jesen, a minimum u proljeće. U godišnjem hodu varijabilnosti padalina sve postaje imaju maksimum u listopadu. Sporedni maksimum varijabilnosti javlja se u siječnju ili veljači. Glavni minimum varijabilnosti u svim je postajama u lipnju, osim u Sisku, gdje se javlja u travnju. Sporedni minimum varijabilnosti padalina jest u ožujku ili travnju. Prostorne razlike u varijabilnosti padalina postoje, premda nisu toliko izražene, naročito od ožujka do srpnja.
This paper investigates the changes in precipitation levels in Croatia that can be observed since the mid 20th century. Based on the data from 22 weather stations, linear trends show very little oscillation for the period 1950–2010. In eastern Croatia, a slight increase was recorded, while a slight drop or stagnation was evident in other parts of the country. However, were such trends to continue, they could have long-term geographic consequences. In the analytical period, it is possible to determine cyclical changes in the annual levels of precipitation.
