Family businesses are the most key actors that make up the global economy. They are by far the most popular form of doing business in the majority of developed economies. At the same time, they are the epitome of the spirit of the free market economy as reflected in the role of individual entrepreneurship and innovation. The importance of family businesses for the development of economies has attracted increasing interest over the last few decades. There is a fast-growing body of literature about different forms of family business and variations in family entrepreneurship. Some of these studies focus on the family itself. The paper aims to show mutual interdependences between the family, the entrepreneurial attitude and the functioning of family businesses, which are to a large extent responsible for the economic capacity of the EU countries and regions. The paper is a theoretical and empirical one. It deals with issues related to changes that occur within the family as well as its significance in the modern world, including economic life, and the specific attributes of family businesses. The empirical part presents the results of the survey FLASH EUROBAROMETER 354 on "Entrepreneurship". The paper is concluded by statement family businesses are the engine of deliberate and stable development passed on from a generation to a generation. Trust and loyalty, translating into relationships with employees and customers, are their important attributes.

Produkty rehabilitacyjne powinny być jednak społecznie odpowiedzialne. Tworząc takie produkty, należy pogodzić ze sobą różne potrzeby, które wyrażają w tym obszarze projektant, producent, rehabilitant i klient. Celem artykułu jest odpowiedź na pytanie, czym dla projektantów jest społeczna odpowiedzialność: czy głęboko zakorzenioną wartością, czy wykorzystują ją głównie do celów marketingowych.
The aim of the article is to present the specific character of the general academic and practical profiles in the field of fine arts that are not natural for the researched profiles i.e.: sculpture (artistic faculty) conducted in the practical profile and industrial design (design faculty) conducted in the general academic profile. The issue of artistic faculties with a practical profile is particularly significant when every faculty created by a newly established organizational unit of a university has to go through studies of the practical profile. The main conclusion resulting from the conducted research is the need to frame detailed and unique regulations on organising studies of the practical profile for artistic faculties. The data for the research was collected using a participation observation conducted at Strzemiński Academy of Art Łódź between the years of 2009-2017; the result was presented with the use of a case study.
The article presents experiences of the authors from the research and development project titled: "Study of orthopaedic seats, particularly for children and teenagers with paralysis and paresis (triplegia, tetraplegia, diplegia, hemiplegia or crossed hemiplegia)". The study presents the design approach of the team of designers from the Strzemiński Academy of Arts in Lodz and selected solutions which will be implemented by LIW Care Technologya company that produces wheelchairs for children with cerebral palsy.
