To compete in regional and global markets, the SMEs should be competitive. They have at least competitive and comparative products. Consequently, the development of SMEs should head for two directions, i.e. improving the quality of SME as well as its quantity. If the development can be done, SME can serve as a mainstay in the enhancement and the development of Indonesia's economy. SME as economic pioneer in the development of the national economy in the future is a very appropriate and wise choice. Nevertheless, it must be equipped with an appropriate development strategy to avoid disharmony or discontinuity. Inaccurate and negligent provisioning toward SMEs to compete in regional, national and international markets will cause the helplessness of SMEs facing the global competition. In addition, the cause of the decreasing production is caused by the shellacking of the SME product with the flood of Chinese products in Indonesian market. These products are competitor's commodities of Indonesian SMEs such as ceramic, apparel, footwear (shoes/slippers), furniture, and craft products [1].

Indonesia merupakan “Largest Halal Market” di dunia. Tidak berlebihan bila kita melihat bagaimana umat muslim merupakan mayoritas di negara ini. Sebaran umat muslim dari Sabang sampai Merauke sangat besar. Khususnya umat muslim terpadat ada di Pulau Jawa termasuk Karawang didalamnya menjadi sebaran masyarakat muslim yang padat. Untuk itu diperlukan sertifikasi halal guna memberikan rasa aman dan nyaman terhadap pelanggan yang sebagian umat muslim. Namun faktanya, Semua Rumah Potong Hewan milik pemerintah Kabupaten Karawang belum mempunyai sertifikasi halal dari Majelis Ulama Indonesia. Namun praktik pemotongan hewan sudah halal. Hal tersebut berdasarkan basic standarisasi penyembelihan hewan menurut Majelis Ulama Indonesia sudah dilaksanakan dengan baik. Alur Distribusi Rumah Potong Hewan sudah bagus. Daging sapi dipisahkan dari produk- produk non halal, lalu dihindarkan dari kontak langsung dengan lantai dan permukaan kendaraan. Dalam pengiriman juga dipastikan tidak terkena air hujan dan debu dengan menutup daging dengan kain terpal. Meski disini belum sesuai standard karena tidak mencantumkan informasi kehalalan dalam proses pengiriman, setidaknya handling product yang dilakukan pihak Rumah Potong Hewan menunjukan usaha yang baik. Hasil”dari Penelitian ini adalah’berupa checklist”yang digunakan sebagai’standard yang harus di terapkan di Rumah Potong Hewan khususnya Pemerintah Kabupaten Karawang.

The prevalence of stunting in Indonesia was still high at 24.4% based on the 2021 Indonesian Nutritional Status Study, while at 20.9% in Central Java. Policymakers need to make quick and practical decisions to support the creation of an environment that empowers communities in stunting prevention. This current study aimed to describe the cause and effect of stunting and various applicable models of community empowerment in various regions of Indonesia to prevent stunting cases. This study used a qualitative method and focus group discussions (FDG) for data collection. It was conducted in mid-2022. The participants were the technical officers of the provincial government, National Population and Family Planning Board (BKKBN), non-government organizations, nutritionists, child health experts and academicians, as many as 2 participants from each organization selected by the purposive sampling method. The FGD results showed several good practices in some regions. One initiative to replicate is providing stunting prevention training for cadres and mothers of childbearing age and health promotion programs for prospective brides at least three months before marriage. Besides, forming a team for collecting data on prospective brides, and improving the existing recording system is required to reduce stunting prevalence.
