AbstractThe surface waters are tangible. There are important dams, dikes, reservoirs, aqueducts and irrigation canals, all of them visible works. But those aren´t the biggest water sources to satisfied the world needs. They are only visible. However, the rivers and lakes constitute less than 3% of fresh water flowing from our planet. The remaining 97% (about 1230 km3 of water) is groundwater. The present article describes the general structure of aquifers and analyzed the situation of aquifers that are in the territory of Argentina.
