Mobile Ad-hoc Network is a special kind of computer network which do not rely on any fixed infrastructure. Due to their dynamism and addictive functionality, they are vulnerable to various attacks. Black-hole attack is one kind of attack which can be applied on MANET. In this attack the malicious node claims that it is having shortest and the freshest path to the destination node so that all the data packets are forwarded to it from the source node. After receiving the data packets, it drops them to create a Denial of Service attack or processes to extract information from the packet. In this paper a technique is being proposed for the detection of the black-hole or malicious node can be possible in Ad-hoc On Demand Vector Routing Protocol. In this a new request, a kind of trap process is implemented for the detection of black-hole nodes. When the malicious nodes are detected after that an alarming process is implemented to make other nodes aware of malicious nodes.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
