Planar patch antenna with a 100-mm slit parallel to radiating edge is designed resulting in significant size reduction of 76% and dual-frequency operation. Tuning in the frequency range of 2.33-2.78 GHz is achieved for the lower operating frequency by introducing partial slit of varying lengths with comparable size reduction. The upper resonant frequency is higher than the resonant frequency of the simple patch by about 15-20% which is also tunable in the frequency range of 4.9-5.11 GHz, albeit not independently of the lower frequency.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
