Manuscript type: Research paper Research aims: This study aims to investigate the role of acculturative product as an isolative mechanism for achieving the marketing performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Indonesia. Specifically, it focusses on the Indonesian Sarong Samarinda industry. Design/Methodology/Approach: Data were collected from 207 individual entrepreneurs who are involved in Sarong Samarinda businesses in East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Structural equation modelling (SEM) using AMOS was utilised to analyse the data. Research findings: The results of this study show that the advantages of the acculturative products influence the marketing performance. This study highlights the importance of innovativeness in securing the potentials of the acculturative products for the SME industry in Indonesia. It is also observed that the acculturative product acts as the mediator between innovativeness and marketing performance.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors such as access to finance, legal constraints, and entrepreneurial skill on women's participation in business activities. The mediating effects of self-leadership were also established as an influence on women's participation in business activities. Moreover, the study examined the moderating effect of education among selfleadership and participation of women in entrepreneurial activities. The study selected a quantitative method and structured questionnaire for the data collection. The study found a significant relationship of the effect of access to finance, legal constraints, and entrepreneurial skill with women's participation in entrepreneurial activities. Moreover, the study found a significant mediating effect of self-leadership between factors and women's participation in entrepreneurial activities as well as a significant moderating effect of education between self-leadership and participation of women in entrepreneurial activities. The study suggests that the government and other institutions should take the initiative in women's entrepreneurship that affects women's self-leadership skills. The policymakers should pay attention to the financial concerns of women in business activities.
The main objective of a startup is to discover a suitable plan of action that can create value for growth in the economy. This research provides evidence and allied vision engrossed on three perspectives: business coaching, lean start-up approach, and innovative work behavior of women's context in solar energy entrepreneurial action. Moreover, the study is based on a quantitative method, and results indicated that it has a significant impact on the lean start-up approach on innovative work behavior and has a significant mediating effect on business coaching. This study helps researchers and practitioners cope with the entrepreneurial incubation programs for women entrepreneurs in the lean start-up approach. Moreover, this also contributes to the deep understanding of women's exploring, building, and implementing business ideas. Additionally, the study argues that guidance and directions are important for innovative entrepreneurial actions.
The failure or success of an enterprise depends upon its working capital management practices (WCMP) along with effective corporate social responsibilities (CSR) and social entrepreneurship (SE). These factors ensure not only the soundness of financial indicators but also the profitability of an enterprise. Therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the impact of CSR, SE, and WCMP on the performance of small–medium enterprises (SMEs) of tourism sector, during the lockdown period in Malaysia. The goals also include the investigation of moderating role of employee behavior (EB) among the nexus of CSR, SE, WCMP, and performance of SMEs. The survey was performed to find out the practices adopted by the SMEs during corona days. A quantitative research method has been adopted to get data with convenient sampling technique, and PLS-SEM has been exploited to find out the significant nexus among CSR, SE, WCMP, and the performance of SMEs. The results indicate that CSR, SE, and WCMP have a positive association with the performance of SMEs in Malaysia. The results also indicate that EB positively moderates among the nexus of CSR, SE, WCMP, and the performance of SMEs in Malaysia. Stock review strategies by the SMEs during the corona days also exhibit significant differences except for no stock review. Significant differences between the enterprises show a lack of adaptation of the financial indicators that determine enterprise soundness. The study not only provides guidelines for entrepreneurs of SMEs but also helps in maintaining standards for the evaluation of the enterprises.
