The article is devoted to the study of students-athletes' emotional burnout syndrome as a consequence of stressors in competitive sports. The purpose of the study is to prove the need for psychological prevention and correction of emotional burnout of athletes, to propose a set of psychological measures for their implementation in a higher education institution. To achieve this goal, the dynamics of the emotional burnout syndrome of students-athletes who are engaged in athletics in a higher education institution has been empirically studied. A longitudinal study was conducted, which consisted of 2 stages and lasted a year-from February 2019 till February 2020. Namely, in February 2019, a primary psychological diagnosis was conducted according to the questionnaire for the diagnosis of emotional burnout V. Boyko. And in February 2020, re-diagnosis was performed using the same method. Between these two stages, students-athletes trained intensively and took an active part in sports competitions at the local, regional and All-Ukrainian levels. Nonparametric U-Mann-Whitney test was chosen for mathematical and statistical processing of the obtained results to determine the presence of changes in mental state and differences in the indicators of emotional burnout of students-athletes between the first and second stages of the study. The results of a longitudinal study proved that students-athletes of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University, after a year of participation in competitions and intensive training, have signs of emotional burnout, which are in the formation phase. The most pronounced are the indicators of resistance and stress. The formation of emotional burnout of studentsathletes occurs due to the experience of traumatic circumstances, selfdissatisfaction, which contributes to the inadequate selective emotional response, removal, depletion of mental and emotional resources. The empirical study substantiates the ways and directions of providing psychological support and assistance to athletes: relieving emotional stress, regulation of emotional well-being, adequate emotional response, development of self-confidence and increasing of self-esteem. A set of psychotechnical exercises has been selected, which contains five blocks-breathing, body-oriented exercises, removal of clamps and relaxation, exercises to develop self-confidence and increase self-esteem, the development of intragroup interaction.
Achieving a high level of physical culture and quality of life in Ukraine is an important condition for the practical implementation of the strategic task, namely, sustainable development of the country. The purpose of the paper is to study the issue of health-forming technology of physical education of higher educational institution students based on sports-oriented training. In the process of studying the impact of introducing sports-oriented training, an experiment was conducted. The experiment consisted in the fact that additional physical education classes were introduced for some students, namely, for the experimental group, table tennis classes were offered. The experimental group included 50 boys and 50 girls. The age of students ranged from 17 to 21 years. Students in the experimental group attended table tennis classes for one semester. Classes were held 3 times a week. After analysing the data obtained after the experiment, a comparison was made between the initial, final, and state-established regulatory indicators. Firstly, it can be concluded that table tennis classes had a positive impact on students' performance. Secondly, it is important to note that students are closer to the state-established indicators (for A grade). The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that after conducting an experiment with a small group of students, it can be concluded that table tennis classes had a positive effect on students' physical fitness, and therefore on their health. Thus, the introduction of such classes in all educational institutions both in Ukraine and around the world can be recommended.
