ABSTRACTThe aim of ihis study is to contribute to the debate about the need of the 20-F reconciliation form. With a sample of European companies from Continental countries we try to test three hipoteses. If the information under domestic GAAP has information content for the american investors, if the 20-F has information content and if the investors discriminate the sign of the reconciliation. We try to avoid some of the limitations of previous studies. As a methodology we use association models and valuation models. Our results show the market is able to anticipate the conciliation before it is published in the 20-F report. The domestic measures are always relevant and the market discriminate the sign of the reconciliation. These results do not support the SEC arguments to maintain the conciliation for the European companies.1 KEY WORDS Accounting information relevance; Relevance and capital marltets; 20-F relevance.Desde principios de los años noventa se ha desencadenado un proceso de globalización e internacionalización de la economía en general, y de las finanzas en particular, que ha supuesto una revolución en el mundo financiero y, por supuesto, en la información financiera que presentan ~W~~C U~O S
