Sulphur dioxide (SO 2 ) is one of a group of highly reactive gases known as "oxides of sulphur". SO 2 is linked with a number of adverse effects on the respiratory system and other environmental issues. It is an important industrial emission gas which causes several difficulties in the environment like acid rain. Sulphur dioxide is a ubiquitous component of fuel combustion exhausts and one of the first air pollutants to be regulated all over world. Several approaches have been adopted to reduce SO 2 content in the environment. One of the most difficult environmental problems facing industry is how to economically control SO 2 emissions. Conversion of H 2 SO 4 from SO 2, which could be a great impact on reducing pollution. Production of sulphuric acid is one of the best choice considering its economical values and utilities. This paper addresses the different processes to control SO 2 and to use SO 2 in most economic and productive way to reduce SO 2 effect in environment. A review of various treatment methods has been provided and a brief description of each process has been included and their technical applicability is also compared.
The paper presents the mathematical modeling for battery pack sizing to evaluate the vehicle energy consumption by using the derivation from Parametric Analytical Model of Vehicle Energy Consumption (PAMVEC) by Simpson in R Studio. The assess of storage batteries for electric vehicles (EVs) application is presented in this paper. The main source of power in EVs are batteries and to properly optimize their use in them, a parametric vehicle dynamic model is created and factors like battery mass, energy needed for the EV etc. are predicted using inputs such as battery specific energy, range etc. An assessment of output parameters is performed by using different batteries and compared to determine best battery for EV application.
Smart wheelchairs are commonly used to provide solution for mobility impairment. However their usage is limited primarily due to high cost owing from sensors required for giving input, lack of adaptability for different categories of input and limited functionality. In this paper we propose a smart mobility solution using smartphone with inbuilt sensors (accelerometer, camera and speaker) as an input interface. An Emotiv EPOC+ is also used for motor imagery based input control synced with facial expressions in cases of extreme disability. Apart from traction, additional functions like home security and automation are provided using Internet of Things (IoT) and web interfaces. Although preliminary, our results suggest that this system can be used as an integrated and efficient solution for people suffering from mobility impairment. The results also indicate a decent accuracy is obtained for the overall system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
