Tourism and agriculture can contribute to destination sustainability by increasing tourist-stakeholder satisfaction. Grown agriculture is an important component of a rural destination attraction. Nonetheless, tourists’ satisfaction with locally grown agricultural food has been unexplored when it comes to linking tourism with agriculture. The purpose of this study is to develop an understanding of the links between demand for locally grown agricultural products at the destination and the levels of satisfaction among visitors. Theoretical views concerning tourist consumption of local agricultural products and its effects were reviewed. Unstructured in-depth interviews were conducted onsite in Tiantangzhai to investigate the relationship between tourism and agriculture with visitor satisfaction. The sample of respondents consisted of 71 participants who shared their views on the relationship between agriculture and tourism at the destination. Findings were presented in a two-level analysis including the industry focus and a soft-laddering technique that revealed deeper insights. Findings indicate that tourist-stakeholders present a demand-driven economy that can be exploited by local agricultural producers and the tourism economy itself. Theoretical implications point to a more sustainable destination image and practical implications highlight the demand-driven implications of tourist expectations and experience satisfaction.
This paper offers an empirical analysis of the effects of financing channels on innovation and the regulatory effect of the enterprise life cycle based on data published from 2008 to 2017 on publicly traded companies in China. The results show that government subsidies, tax preferences, self-owned funds, and equity financing have significant positive incentives for enterprise innovation, and the incentive intensity is gradually weakened while bank loans will hinder enterprise innovation. The impacts of various financing channels on enterprise innovation vary with the different stages of the enterprise life cycle, and the overall performance is weakened with the advancement of the life cycle. According to the grouping research of property rights, it is found that the impacts of various financing channels on the innovation of non-state-owned enterprises are more significant than those of state-owned enterprises. Further research finds that the influence of each financing channel on enterprise innovation is U-shaped or inverted U-shaped, indicating that there is a moderate range of each financing channel. This study is of great significance to fully understand the impacts of various financing channels on enterprise innovation and the regulatory role of the enterprise life cycle and to optimize the allocation of innovation resources.
Based on the national baseline survey data of the CHARLS2015, the comprehensive evaluation index of depression degree of the elderly in China is calculated using a principal component analysis method. The Tobit model is used to investigate the influence of mental health status with depression degree as a proxy variable on the health consumption of the elderly in China. The results show that the overall effect and the phased effect of depression on the health consumption of the elderly are positive. In other words, high levels of depression lead to a higher probability and amount of health consumption. Research findings show that chronic illness and increased social activity can weaken the effect of depression on the health spending of the elderly. Fully considering the factors affecting the mental health of elderly people is required to improve their level of mental health. Importantly, the quality audit system of health products and the supervision and management system of the health consumption market should be improved to realize the benign operation of the health consumption market.
This study examined the impacts of perceived risks on information search and risk reduction strategies as well as the relative importance of each risk reduction strategy. Multiple regression analysis was applied to analyze the sample of South Korean hotel customers and to test the hypotheses of the study. It was found that when hotel customers faced the same kind of risk, they adopted different information search strategies to reduce various risks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, ‘following hotel employee’s advice’ was perceived to be the most important information search strategy to reduce risks. This is the first study to compare the differences of perceived risk and information search strategies under the COVID-19 pandemic and normal conditions to help hotels to develop more effective strategies to recover from the pandemic. The results of the study should be interpreted with care since it was based on Korean hotel customers. The influence of cultural differences in perceived risk and information search strategy should be addressed in future studies. The study contributes to the tourism and hospitality information search and risk reduction strategy-related literature and recommends avenues for further research in the field.
