RESUMO. O mercado da carne bovina no Brasil vem sofrendo grandes mudanças que afetam diretamente o produtor rural. Os mercados consumidores têm exigido produtos com melhor qualidade. Com isso, os sistemas de criação estão evoluindo para permitir que os animais sejam abatidos mais jovens e com pesos superiores. As propriedades rurais têm procurado se adequar a essa nova realidade, sendo que as propriedades que realizam a fase de cria do bezerro passam a ter grande importância para a cadeia produtiva da carne. Estas necessitam adotar novas técnicas que permitam o desmame de bezerros mais pesados e com maior uniformidade nos lotes, facilitando o trabalhado da fase seguinte, a recria. A utilização de uma dieta diferenciada e privativa no cocho para os bezerros na fase de lactentes é uma alternativa para alcançar o objetivo de produção de animais superiores à desmama.Palavras chave: cadeia produtiva, creep feeding, desmame, dieta Supplementation of nursing calves in private trough: ReviewABSTRACT. The beef market in Brazil has undergone great changes which directly affect the rural producer. Consumer markets have required products with best quality. Thereat, the systems of creation are evolving to allow the animals being slaughtered younger and with higher weights. The rural properties have wanted fit on this new reality, being that properties as perform calf creates phase they begin to have great importance on the supply chain meat. These need to adopt new techniques that allow the weaning of calves heaviest and greater uniformity on the batch, facilitating the working next phase, the rebuilds. The use of a differentiated and private diet there for the calves on the lactating phase it's an alternative to achieve the production goal of superior animals at weaning.
