In this study, we have an insulator is subjected to high voltage under various atmospheric condition. Without porcelain and asbestos coatings to judge the performance and with porcelain and asbestos coatings to judge the performance of electrical insulation materials, upto 44 KV during various atmospheric condition. And for porcelain insulating material, upto 41 KV.
In this paper, we are studying about partial discharge of insulator with various parameters simulated in MATLAB. There are many types of insulator available in markets which have some impurities. The partial discharges are occurred due to presence of air impurity or void in the insulating material. The insulation failure occurs in high voltage power equipment’s due to Partial discharges, which readily generates at void or rough conductor profiles of equipment’s.
Pollution flashover is a critical problem which affects the safety of operation of power system. In order to prevent pollution flashover accidents of outdoor insulation devices, a series of anti-pollution coatings got application. Different alternatives are used to improve the behavior of the electrical insulation used in transmission lines and thus reduce or prevent the transmission line outages caused by pollution.
