Architectural heritage is considered a fundamental issue in the life of modern societies. In addition to their historical interest, cultural heritage buildings are valuable because they contribute significantly to the economy by providing key attractions at a time when tourism and leisure are major industries. The need for preserving historical constructions is thus not only a cultural requirement, but also an economical and developmental demand. Herein, among different Iranian heritage buildings, pigeon towers, or dovecotes, are of a great importance. Hundreds of dovecotes, dating largely to the Safavid period, dot the fields in the vicinity of Isfahan. On the other hand, valleys formed by creeks in central parts of Anatolia seem to have offered suitable environments for ancient settlements. Cappadocia region and two valleys nearby the town of Gesi accommodate a number of villages surrounded by hundreds of dove cotes in different types. This paper investigates different types of dovecotes in Iran plateau and Central Anatolia, Turkey. The results show there is a fundamental difference between the structures of dovecotes in these two countries. However, ancient dovecotes in Iran and Central Anatolia can be considered good examples of 'architecture without architects' or ' spectacular vernacular architecture'. Master builders who designed and constructed these buildings for such a simple function, created impressive forms without much pretension and bringing forth the tectonic aspects of the art of architecture.
The natural characteristics of protected areas have changed for a variety of reasons through time. Changes in protected area landscapes can occur because of natural and/or cultural processes. Natural processes such as geomorphologic disturbance and climatic condition can permanently and/or temporarily change the characteristics of the environment. In addition, changes in human needs, knowledge and activities are the cultural driving forces behind changing characteristics of landscape through time. Herein, the contact between citizens and open spaces continues to block the successful movement of open and especially urban spaces. One of the most important parts of this relationship is local citizens' awareness of open spaces. In this paper key issue in the contacts between citizens and Golestan National Park (GNP) in western part of Iranian capital, Golestan is investigated. In fact, in this paper our objectives are to describe and clarify residents' attitudes regarding the costs and benefits of GNP, explore the effects of people's awareness of park management through nongovernmental organization.
The issue of sustainable urban development has been considered an important scientific issue in all communities in recent years and has received a large part of the literature on urban development. In this regard, various dimensions of sustainable development from different angles have been studied, analyzed, and evaluated, and various approaches have been considered in different perspectives. By defining sustainable development as development of quality of life and life in the capacity to tolerate backup ecosystems, and with regard to concepts such as development and the environment, the relationship between human, the environment and sustainable development is explained in the context of this definition. Various causes play a role in the formation and sustainable development of urban environments, among which climatic considerations play an important role. Climate as one of the subsystems involved in the ecological structure of nature with other components of the system has interacted with each other and thus reacts to the changes occurring in the natural systems and adapts itself to new conditions. Within the framework of this discussion, the following climatic changes are briefly discussed. In fact, these are the changes that, in the sense of "urban climate", give a special identity: 1. Irradiance, transparency and / or air turbidity; 2. Air temperature; 3. Air flow or wind system; 4. Humidity; 5. Quantity and quality of atmospheric precipitation; 6. Air pollution After mentioning the factors affecting the urban climate, climatic solutions and considerations in urban spaces can be briefly analyzed in terms of performance in places such as walking paths, riding paths, and green spaces. Index Terms-Climate, urban environment, sustainable development, urban components, environmental factors.
