LTE (Long Term Evolution) adalah teknologi komunikasi wireless generasi keempat yang digunakan oleh mayoritas masyarakat. Untuk mendukung implementasi LTE ini dibutuhkan sebuah perangkat antena yang handal dan memiliki bandwidth yang lebar. Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, permintaan untuk antena compact, low profile, dan broadband antena telah meningkat secara signifikan. Antena mikrotrsip merupakan jenis antena yang digunakan. Antena mikrostrip ini dapat dibuat lebih kecil dengan menggunakan teknik miniaturisasi, seperti memodifikasi geometri antena dengan menggunakan slot. Antena mikrostrip dengan slot memiliki potensi memiliki bandwidth yang lebar dan teknik array antena untuk meningkatkan gain yang menunjang untuk kebutuhan aplikasi LTE. Oleh sebab itu, tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah dilakukan desain dan realisasi antena mikrostrip array 4 patch dengan slot yang digunakan pada aplikasi LTE. Pada penelitian ini telah menghasilkan antena yang bekerja pada band frekuensi 2608-2701 MHz, bandwidth 93 MHz dan gain sebesar 7,24 dB. Antena ini pun mengalami peningkatan gain sebesar 4.826 dB dari single element dan mengalami reduksi antena sebesar 0,12%.
Antenna radiation pattern is the major topic of Antenna and Propagation course in Telecommunication Engineering Program Study. Antenna radiation pattern measurement system is strongly required to conduct practical work in the laboratory. This study aims to design Automatic Antenna Radiation Pattern Measurement System based microcontroller for conducting Antenna and Propagation Laboratory course. This system will expand and enrich the topics of practical subjects in the laboratory, and it leads to the achieving of more learning indicators of the Antenna and Propagation course. The methodology used in this research is quantitative method where data obtained through student response questionnaire. The result of student response to designing of this system is 0.86. The interview is conducted with both the expert of media and content. The result shows that this system is necessitated to run the laboratory of Antenna and Propagation course.
The radiation pattern is an important parameter of the antenna performance. This parameter needs to be measured not only accurately but also as fast as possible. For this purpose, the automatic measurement system has been developed. In this research, the system is implemented to analyze the radiation characteristic of a Yagi antenna by measuring its radiation pattern. The measurement result of the patterns is compared to those of the table characteristics of the Yagi antenna as well as a computer simulation. For this purpose, a Yagi antenna is designed and realized as the radiation pattern measurement object. Then, the students experiment to measure and analyze the effect of parasitic elements on the radiation pattern performance of the antenna. The questionnaire is carried out as the method of the research and directed to the students of the Telecommunication Study Program, Bandung State Polytechnic, to get the perception of the object performance.
