Wilhelm Roentgen first discovered X-rays in 1895. Since its introduction in the mid-1980s, digital radiography has surpassed traditional screen-film radiography. Since 2000, more than 75 percent of medical clinics in the United States have migrated to digital radiography (DR). In fact, the US government has ordered that all medical records be converted to digital. Indirect, direct, or semi-direct digital radiography pictures are types of digital radiography currently available. Forensic radiology is a branch of medical imaging technology that helps clinicians. Radiology technology has evolved and grown tremendously in recent years. When comparing aggregated antemortem and postmortem information, radiographs are crucial. Adopting new technologies into a dental business demands a certain amount of bravery. After all, why alter things if your practise is running smoothly? To grasp the new equipment and procedures, the dentist and his or her staff will need further training. It's not always apparent how the new strategy will influence the practice's present logistics. These factors may cause the practitioner to be hesitant to alter present techniques. In this article we’ll reviewing digital dental radiography, and what are the advantages of going digital. And also what are the challenges that face us.
Tooth discoloration is a common dental occurrence that is linked to both clinical and aesthetic issues. The treatment of tooth discoloration has grown into highly complex, scientific, and therapeutic field by the twenty-first century. Dental surgeons must understand the etiology of tooth staining in order to provide an accurate diagnosis and thus management. Extrinsic causes produce tooth darkening, whereas intrinsic congenital or systemic influences cause tooth discoloration. Tooth bleaching is a safe and effective way to lighten the color of the teeth. Today, the physician has a number of options, including at-home tray-based bleaching treatments with low hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide concentrations. Surgical options include dental restorations which is may be indicated for some cases. This review aims to summarize current evidence regarding causes, classification and management of tooth discoloration. Medline and PubMed public database searches were carried out for papers written all over the world on tooth discoloration. No predictive analytics technology was used.
Necrotizing sialometaplasia (NS) is defined as a benign, self-limiting inflammatory condition of tissues related to salivary gland. It accounts for less than 1percent of total of biopsied oral lesions. Necrotizing sialometaplasia (NS) has a very good prognosis. Ischemia owing to trauma is the most common cause of necrotizing sialometaplasia, which is a perfectly benign lesion. With or without biopsy, the lesions heal on their own. The goal of a biopsy is to rule out cancer as the cause of their troubling clinical symptoms. The majority of cases of necrotizing sialometaplasia are thought to be caused by vascular ischemia. Management of Necrotizing sialometaplasia doesn’t necessates surgery or medications as the disease is self-healed one, surgery is only applied when cellular masses are massive. This article aims to overview epidemiology, diagnosis and management of necrotizing sialometaplasia.
A benign vascular tumor is characterized as a pyogenic granuloma (PG), also referred to as a lobular capillary hemangioma. It develops as a result of cutaneous or mucosal inflammation-induced hyperplasia. Its name is misleading because it neither has anything to do with pus generation nor is it histologically made up of real granulomas. The development of PG's neoplastic tumor is thought to be a response to a variety of stimuli, including prolonged localized inflammation, trauma, hormonal effect, and medications. Poor oral hygiene is thought to be the leading cause of its frequent appearance in the oral cavity. Oral PG affects people of all ages, from 4.5 to 93 years old, however, it most frequently affects women than men in their second and fifth decades of life. After the hard plate, the lips, tongue, buccal mucosa, and gingiva were the most common sites. The frenum, tongue, lips, tongue, and palate were additional locations. It can manifest intraorally in a variety of clinical ways, from a sessile lesion to a raised mass. Techniques used for treating oral PG are many and the choice of the appropriate strategy depends on many factors such as the severity of the case.
Total edentulism is a serious public health issue, particularly among the aged people. Edentulism has a detrimental impact on various elements of a patient's everyday life, including masticatory function, phonetics, and facial structure, with significant psychosocial implications. For those patients, complete dentures remain the first option. Despite the fact that age-specific rates of edentulism are expected to decline, demand for complete dentures will continue to rise in the next decades. Patients with new complete dentures who are edentulous are fairly pleased, however up to 30% of them have issues. They continue to struggle with issues such as unattractive appearance, ripping pain or discomfort owing to the failure of holding and stabilization, impaired articulation, food deposition under the denture, and trouble with chewing. These types of issues can lower one's quality of life and force him to seek additional help to resolve them. In some circumstances, a specific clinical technique known as rebasing is recommended as a solution to these issues.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
