We report a case of cervical spine, tracheal and oesophageal trauma from a go-karting injury caused by the patient's scarf catching in the vehicle's wheel. We discuss the significance of the pre-hospital and operative management of this potentially life-threatening injury by a multi-specialty surgical team. The importance of health and safety issues in recreational sports is highlighted in view of the increasing incidence of cervical spine trauma over past two decades.

We report the case of a deliberate application of cyanoacrylate adhesive (commonly called "superglue") to the nose of a 9-year-old boy during a fi ght. The glue was successfully removed under general anesthesia without causing trauma to the nasal mucosa. To the best of our knowledge, only 1 other case of cyanoacrylate injury to the nasal cavity has been published in the literature. We also provide an algorithm to guide clinicians in the future management of this unusual circumstance.

A bilobed pharyngeal pouch is a very rare finding. One such case is reported here, and is the first to be treated successfully by endoscopic division and stapling.
