A bio-inspired model to care for casualties in a disaster is presented and a simulation based on this model is performed and evaluated. The model uses a queuing system inspired by the behavior of immune systems and an ACO-like heuristic for routing casualties across overloaded medical centers. The simulation results are promising. Our model can be modified to be used for the evacuation of population from an affected area in a disaster.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
