Salamanders collected near Asiago, north of Vicenza (North-eastern Italy), were studied. From their morphological and embryological characteristic and electrophoretic patterns of haemoglobins and LDH isoenzymes they were interpreted as a possible new subspecies of Salamandra a h Law.
