Abstract. The business process diagrams are widely used in business process management. The aesthetic attractiveness of the drawing of a business process diagram is especially important since the aesthetic layouts are also most informative and practical. We focus on the drawing of lines representing sequence flows assuming the locations of flow objects fixed. This problem is a special case of routing problem where stochastic optimization methods are among the most appropriate. To state the problem as a problem of multi-objective optimization taking into account the attitude of potential users towards the criteria of aesthetics, the assessment of importance (weighting) of the criteria is needed. In the present paper, the most important criteria are assessed using the results of a psychological experiment which are processed by the weighting method used in the Analytic Hierarchy Process.
This paper surveys Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods for acquiring and managing contextof-operation awareness of radio communication nodes, links, and networks. The meaning and significance of context information and suitability of Machine Learning (ML) methods for the enrichment of context information is discussed. A number of context features are considered in this regard and thorough analysis on which ML methods are suitable to which part of context learning is provided. The added value of the paper is the presentation of a synthesized framework of context-information processing, sharing, and management in a radio communication network by delineating a network-embedded subsystem for this management. Recommendations for a future AI/ML-based radio communication system architectures are also provided.
Abstract:In this paper we report on the development of the prototype of Internet media monitoring tool for Lithuanian government. Two design specificities are emphasized. First, the tool must to a maximum possible extent utilize the open access and open source tools and resources available. Second, this university-lead open mode of the tool development must be conducted in close collaboration with governmental agencies operating under confidentiality seal. Having successfully developed the media monitoring prototype, two key findings are reported: 1) the conceptual model of the Internet media monitoring tool based on open access Internet infrastructure resources; and 2) the system design method for balancing public and confidential requirements towards the system.
The purpose was to create a flexible system for biomedical data acquisition, analysis and archiving. Web-based tool includes centralized storage of data of coronary artery disease (CAD) patients after coronary artery bypass surgery (CABS) at different stages of treatment. The implemented web based tool is based on client-server architecture and international open source technologies including Apache web server, PHP scripts and MySQL database. The system implemented in client server architecture. The server stores the data and controls basic system functionalities. The client is used by users in order to access data from the server. The system should assure strict secure measures, that is why system is available only for authorized users. Web-based tool enable to monitor patient's functional state, to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment using novel methods of data visualization as well as to establish teleconsultations among doctor-doctor and patient-doctor-patient.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
