Although the micronized purified flavonoid fraction has some inhibitory properties on the healing of the anastomosis, its net effect was to obtain a better anastomotic healing of the colon in rats.
Hepatic portal venous gas is most often associated with extensive bowel necrosis due to mesenteric infarction. Mortality exceeds 75% with this condition. The most common precipitating factors include ischemia, intra-abdominal abscesses and inflammatory bowel disease. In this report, we present a 75-year-old woman with extensive hepatic portal and mesenteric venous gas due to colonic diverticulitis. She had a 10-year history of type II diabetes mellitus and hypertension. She was treated by sigmoid resection and Hartmann's procedure and discharged from the hospital without any complications.
ÖZET Duodenum divertikülü genellikle az bilinen bir patolojidir. Duodenum divertikülü vakalar›n % 90'›nda asemptomatik olarak görülürler ve % 67'ye varan oranlarda duodenum ikinci k›sm›nda, daha az oranda da üçüncü veya dördüncü k›s›mda yerleflirler. Tan› ço¤unlukla baflka hastal›klar nedeni ile yap›lan tetkikler s›ras›nda tesadüfen saptan›r. Bu olguda biz; insizyonel f›t›k nedeni ile araflt›r›l›rken saptanm›fl dev duodenum divertiküllü olan 71 yafl›nda kad›n hastay› sunduk ve literatür bilgileri ›fl›¤›nda duodenumun divertiküler hastal›¤›n› tart›flt›k.

Duodenal diverticula are asymptomatic in 90% of the cases and 67% of these are localized in the second portion of the duodenum, rarely in the third or fourth portion. Usually duodenum diverticula can be diagnosed incidentally with the investigation done for the other diseases. In this case; we present giant duodenum diverticula of 71 year female patient has diagnosed the investigation done for incisional hernia and discussed the duodenum diverticula disease with the literature knowledge.
