Learning from experience approach has been widely adopted in the academic cluster of Built Environment including Civil Engineering field. To further strengthen this aspect, a study in exploring construction site visit as an aid to educational component in teaching and learning method is significant. This provide a platform which helps civil engineering students to enhance their safety knowledge and understanding by experiencing the real time situation at the construction site. The objectives of this study are to: (1) determine the effectiveness of site visit approach in teaching and learning of construction site safety (2) measure the performance between students who acquire knowledge related to safety by experiencing one site visit compared to students with zero site visit; and (3) compare the achievement and understanding between male and female students if site visit is adopted in the teaching and learning process. A set of questions is designed as an instrument and participating students are required to answer the questions nonverbally to show their knowledge on the construction site safety. Based on the scoring marks, a statistical analysis has been conducted. The result indicates that students with one site visit have better achievement and understanding compared to students with zero site visit. In addition, the result also shows that with one site visit, female students have better performance in the score marks compared to male students.

Effective academic advising service has been found to bring positive benefits to educational institutions to increase students' retention rates and graduation. This study sought to find the essential attributes in public university academic advising service in UiTM Pasir Gudang campus, Malaysia, which may be used to improve the service provided to the students. Quantitative research was conducted using a questionnaire adapted from Parasuraman's SERVQUAL model with a sample size of 221. The study aimed to examine the relationship between service quality dimensions and students' satisfaction. Descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression analysis were used to analyse the questionnaires. Multiple regression analyses results showed reliability and empathy were two dimensions that had significant relationship with students' satisfaction. The results also demonstrated a statistical difference in academic advising service satisfaction among the students according to their years of study and meeting frequency with advisors. The findings of this study may be valuable for the institution to understand the factors that are most significant to further improve the students' satisfaction level in academic advising service.

Reformation of higher education (HE) institutions is fundamental in improving and strengthening its academic institutions of HE independence. Moving on now to consider the present academic community must undergo a process of change to improve the teaching, research, management functions, and operations of the institutions, which are incremental in a sustainable manner. In essence, there are many indicators of success that have been identified in studies conducted for other industries. The major trend currently observed is the reformation of the HE institutions in major countries mimicking the for-profit industries to make them more competitive. This paper integrates and advances pertinent factors that enable an effective and successful reformation process from the Asian HE perspective by reviewing relevant reformation literature on the matter. This systematic review has developed three (3) core themes relating to the importance of leadership, policy development and governance, and autonomy, which regards higher institutional practices from within the Asian region reviewed. And to conclude, the internal factor is dominating the indicators for HE reforms success. This finding seeks to offer future research to be extended from established institutions from other developed countries as a comparison when planning and implementing change initiatives at the institutional level.
