The process of cleaning and diagnostics of pipelines with high flow rates of the pumped product causes some difficulties due to the uncontrolled increase in the speed of the in-line device, and as a result, such sharp changes in speed lead to the loss of diagnostic data in many sections of the pipeline, cleaning is performed with less efficiency. This article discusses in detail the problems of operating pipelines with high flow rates of the pumped product and the main solutions. The problems of uneven movement of in-line devices in pipelines with high flow rates are considered in more detail. Special attention is paid to the problems of experience in the operation and use of in-line diagnostic devices in Russia and abroad. Possible solutions to these problems are described in detail, such as: the correct choice of the in-line device used, bypassing part of the pumped product through bypass holes, reducing the volume of pumping of the transported product during cleaning and in-line diagnostics, creating back pressure at the end of the pipeline.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
