I From time immemorial human beings seek environmental exploration including those of its segments which are regarded as unfavourable for survival with relation to its natural features. During centuries underwater and stratospheric exploration has been implemented with the help of technical means of life-support in extreme environment. By the early XXI century means for human organism protection against unfavourable factors improved phenomenally, and human space exploration has become possible as a result. Common logic in artificial environment creation for a human as well as common principles in reliable equipment design can be evidenced throughout all this period. These principles are based on interbranch technologies adoption, implying consistency of design methods, materials selection, means to provide for long-term lifetime of a human in inhabited objects.
Existing virtual reality (VR) technologies can be used in designing the new type simulation complexes that will allow improving quality of the technical facilities for cosmonaut training and expanding the range of modeling tasks. The paper considers the main potentials of the VirSim system and its applica-tion for space purposed simulators and simulation-modeling stands.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
