The composite material based on ZnO microneedles and Alq 3 thin lm has been obtained. The photoluminescence study shows a tenfold enhancement in the band-edge UV emission (390 nm) of ZnO microneedles and 2x enhancement in visible emission of the hybrid composite, when excited by 266 nm laser beam. This enhancement can be explained by the interaction between ZnO and Alq3 molecules and the energy transfer from ZnO to Alq 3 molecule.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
