In view of developing smart cities, all the infrastructure of the city should be integrated with intelligent system. Transportation is one of the main constraints to the development of cities. Roads maintenance is one of the key factors for transportation system. In developing countries due to the increased vehicular population the maintenance becoming a complex task. Here we propose a system which detects potholes and humps on roads and send the information to higher authorities using LoRa technology. We designed a system with three modules like user module, gateway module and cloud module. User module includes an ultrasonic sensor and Lora GPS shield which should be deployed on vehicles. Through sensor we can detect the pothole and humps on roads, Lora GPS will capture the location and the information will be sent to the gateway using LoRa communication. Gateway can be anywhere in the range of 15km as LoRa module can send the information throughout this range. This information is uploaded to cloud which will be available for higher authorities to repair and maintain the roads effectively.
This paper explains the proposed architecture for a smart city using LoRa Technology. The framework is designed and implemented with two applications by using LoRa modules and LoRa gateway. The data from the end devices is reached to cloud via LoRa gateway; in this process end devices use only LoRa communication for sending data. The first application is monitoring environmental parameters like air quality and carbon monoxide content. This is implemented by creating a device with Dragino LoRa module and required sensors. The device will be sending the values to LoRa gateway by using LoRa communication. From Gateway the data will be sent to cloud where the administration can notice the heavily polluted regions and take necessary action.The second application is about providing safety for women and children. For this a wearable device is designed with Dragino LoRa GPS module. This device can be used to notify the location of the person in an emergency situation and can also notify if the person is out of the boundaries provided.
The objective of this work is to monitor the gas cylinder continuously and display the weight of gas present inside the cylinder and send an alert to the user when the gas weight comes below the threshold level of 2kgs it sends a message to the user and it also detects any leakage occurring and if any leakage occurs it displays the level of leakage occurring and sends an SMS to the user and alerts
