Synthesis of Novel Alkyltriazole Tagged Pyrido[2,3-d]pyrimidine Derivatives andTheir Anticancer Activity. -Pyridopyrimidines (VIII) and (IX) are obtained from the 2,3-active functional pyridine (I) via cyclization, propargylation and reaction with alkyl or perfluoroalkylazides under Sharpless conditions. Compounds (VIII) and (IX) are screened in vitro against three cancer cell lines. The presence of hydrogen or methyl group in the 2nd position and an alkyl tag in the 3rd position promote high activity as experienced with compounds (VIIIa) and (VIIIb). -(KURUMURTHY, C.; RAO, P.
