A compact dual-band stepped impedance bandpass filter with a defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed. The halfwavelength stepped impedance resonator is adopted to result in two tunable passbands. A DGS is constructed under the two coupling stepped impedance resonators to achieve good passband performance. Compact size and high selectivity is realized with the tap input/output coupling structure. For demonstration, one RF filter operating at 2.45 and 5.2 GHz is designed. Simulated and measured results are provided.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
