This paper introduces a framework for establishing links between related media fragments within a collection of videos. A set of analysis techniques is applied for extracting information from different types of data. Visual-based shot and scene segmentation is performed for defining media fragments at different granularity levels, while visual cues are detected from keyframes of the video via concept detection and optical character recognition (OCR). Keyword extraction is applied on textual data such as the output of OCR, subtitles and metadata. This set of results is used for the automatic identification and linking of related media fragments. The proposed framework exhibited competitive performance in the Video Hyperlinking sub-task of MediaEval 2013, indicating that video scene segmentation can provide more meaningful segments, compared to other decomposition methods, for hyperlinking purposes
Preterm birth is associated with increased risk of neurological, cognitive, motor or sensory impairment and behavioral problems. Music therapy appears to promote neurobehavioral outcomes and can improve brain structure functions. The aim of the study presented in the article is to analyse a potential of a special music therapy technique to shorten time to achieve full oral intake in children born extremely preterm, to (28 weeks) with bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD). We used the mother's singing during breastfeeding, with the slow tempo (60 beats per minute) and a recurring pattern of stressed (strong) and unstressed (weak) syllables (each second was highlighted) to help preterm babies to organize coordination of sucking swallowing and breathing. This therapeutic approach is based on the theory and methods of neurological music therapy called Patterned Sensory Enhancement (PSE). A total of 40 children were included in this Oxford pretest - posttest study design. The experimental group used the PSE intervention technique (n = 20) was compared with the control group of children (n = 20) without the specific therapy.
Technological and medical advances in neonatology have prompted initiation and expansion of individuased developmental care of preterm born infants hospitalized on neonatal intensive care unit. Incorporation of rehabilitation professionals into the NICU is a worldwide trend. Availability of therapists specialized in the care of neonates vary from hospital to hosiptal. Speech language pathologist services generally include managment of oral intake, assesment and interventions to promote feeding readiness, feeding and swallowing functions, vidofluorescence study to assess risk of aspiration and parent education. Association of clinical speech and language therapist initiated the first steps for incorporating clinical speech language pathologist into the team of professionals on NICU to all hospitals in the Czech republic and to unify practices used in NICU for feeding.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
