In this paper, a novel WUSB (Wireless USB) over WBAN (Wireless Body Area Networks) MAC protocol is proposed to improve efficiency of sensing the personal information. Furthermore, a localization technique based on that protocol is also proposed for indoor localization in a ship. For this purpose, the proposed localization algorithm minimizes power consumption and estimates location with accuracy. It is executed independently at each sensor node on the basis of WUSB over WBAN protocol. And it minimizes power consumption by estimating locations of sensor nodes without GPS (Global Positioning Systems).
Recently, there has been interests in smart vessel technology, and it needs to consider an intelligent control system for efficient vessel manangement. In a smart vessel, however, it can cause a network overload due to a number of data transmission from a variety of sensor nodes and bridge nodes. In this letter, we propose an data transmission scheme with data fusion to reduce the number of traffic from the sensor nodes. Hence it can decrease network overload for intelligent vessel management.
In this paper, we use the ECMA-392 standard, the first cognitive radio networks to meet the demand for IT services in the ship. And, we investigate about the conflicts of devices that support multi-hop network based on the ECMA-392. Therefore, we propose the resolution scheme of CRP reservation conflicts to solve this. The current CRP reservation approaches does not solve the CRP reservation conflicts of ECMA-392 between devices that move at a distance of three hops. Therefore, it is not possible to guarantee the QoS of real time services such as multimedia streaming. So, we provide a new CRP reservation scheme to avoid conflict through a new 2-hop CRP Availability IE and the change of CRP Control field. From the simulation results, we know that the proposed method of 3 hops CRP reservation conflicts resolution improves the throughput of device.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
