The hydrothermal reaction of V2O5, Cu(CH3COO)2.H2O, 1,2-diaminopropane and [N(CH3)4]OH yields the novel three-dimensional open-framework solid [(Cu(1,2-pn)2)7-(V16O38(H2O))2].4H2O constructed from the new mixed-valence [V16O38(H2O)]7- clusters interconnected through mu 2-[Cu(1,2-pn)2]2+ groups.
The hydrothermal reaction of the mixture of K 2 WO 4 ؒ2H 2 O, CuSO 4 ؒ5H 2 O, ethylenediamine and H 2 O at 170 ЊC for 72 h yields purple needle-like crystals of [Cu(enanions with discrete [Cu(en) 2 ] 2ϩ complex cations and crystallization water molecules occupying the interchain positions. In the polymeric chain each paradodecatungstate [H 2 W 12 O 42 ] 10Ϫ cluster is connected to two neighbors through four µ 2 -[Cu(en) 2 ] 2ϩ complex groups. The magnetic measurements show that the compound possesses well-separated Cu 2ϩ centers. A probe reaction of the oxidation of cyclohexane with 760 Torr of O 2 indicates that the compound has good catalytic activity for the reaction.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
