Using confirmatory factor analyses, this study examined the method effects on a Chinese version of the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES; Rosenberg, 1965 ) in a sample of migrant and urban children in China. In all, 982 children completed the RSES, and 9 models and 9 corresponding variants were specified and tested. The results indicated that the method effects are associated with both positively and negatively worded items and that Item 8 should be treated as a positively worded item. Additionally, the method effects models were invariant across migrant and urban children in China.
Previous researchers have documented that the color red enhances one's sexual attraction to the opposite sex. The current study further examined the moderating role of sexual dimorphism in red effects. The results indicated that red enhanced men's sexual attraction to women with more feminine facial characteristics but had no effect on ratings of perceived general attractiveness. Red clothing also had a marginally significant effect on men's sexual attractiveness. In addition, regardless of sexual dimorphism cues, male participants rated women with red as warmer and more competent. The underlying mechanisms of the red effect, the limitations of the current study, and suggestions for future directions are discussed.
Vibration in the microgravity environment is with the characteristics of low frequency, small amplitude, and randomness. Control method of an active vibration isolation system with parallel mechanism applied to space application, which is effective for disturbance suppression, is proposed. The dynamics model of active vibration isolation system with payload is represented via Kane's method, thereafter the description in state-space linearization is introduced. System properties and step responses of the systems in open loop are evaluated in detail. Controllability and observability of the system are checked by state-space equations of the system. The state feedback decoupling with double-loop proportionalintegral-derivative (PID) control method is adopted as the system controller to design the decoupling matrix
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
