The purpose of this paper is to obtain the approximate solution of fourth-order parabolic partial differential equations by the reduced differential transform method (RDTM).This method provides the solution in the form of a convergent series with easily calculable terms. Comparing RDTM with some other methods in the literature shows present approach is very simple, effective, powerful and can be easily applied to other linear or nonlinear PDEs in science and engineering. Keywords: Reduced differential transform method (RDTM), differential transform method (DTM) fourthorder parabolic partial differential equations, initial value problems.
This paper aims to obtain the approximate solution of time-fractional advection-dispersion equation (FADE) involving Jumarie's modification of Riemann-Liouville derivative by the fractional variational iteration method (FVIM). FVIM provides an analytical approximate solution in the form of a convergent series. Some examples are given and the results indicate that the FVIM is of high accuracy, more efficient, and more convenient for solving time FADEs.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
