This paper draws attention to the prospects of sea-based economy to promote Bangladesh in a middle-income country through the sustainable use of marine resources. About three-fourths of the earth is covered by the seas. It plays the vital role in two important functions from ancient time known as the means of communication and the source of huge living and non-living natural resources. At present, the countries are becoming very much concerned about their marine resources to resolve many of the present and future challenges of their economies. Generally for Bangladesh, ocean is contributing a significant role to its overall socio-economic progress through rising up the economic activities across the country and especially to the coastal zone at southern part. This paper investigates how much Bangladesh is capable to take of or handle the challenges to become a middle income country through the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In addition, it has attempted with a closer-look to find out the barriers or limitations of these activities from different angles if exist.
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is believed to be an indicator of a country’s economic condition. Bangladesh’s GDP increased at a pace of 8.15% in fiscal 2018-19 as per the base year 2005-06. By the year 2019, Bangladesh has become the seventh fastest-growing economy in the world. This paper used multiple regression analysis model for the macroeconomic factors. The aim of this study is to measure the effects of macroeconomic factors considering GDP as the dependent variables and inflation rate, import, and export are considered as independent. This paper represents that import and export are positively associated factors with GDP whereas inflation rate is a negatively associated factor. This study concluded with revealing the importance of conducting further study by considering more economic variables to measure the economic growth as a whole.
Poverty has become a part of human history, but its meaning has changed through time. Most people in traditional societies were poor, and this was accepted as natural and unavoidable, and that is should be possible to find ways to eradicate it. It can be said that poverty is multidimensional and complex issue but the dynamics of poverty are indeed very much complex, involving many inter-related and often interaction variables, the relative importance of which varies from place to place are any given time. In this study, poverty is defined as the condition of lack of education, inequality in land ownership, landlessness, inequality in income distribution, lack of income opportunities and poor government policies. In Bangladesh, thousands of NGO's are working with micro financing and most of them are based on rural area. The urban poverty is only focused on media to just only focus not take steps to reduce or any preventional steps. Both the limited and lower-income earning people of the cities like Dhaka are facing the atrocious scenario of poverty. So its time to establish a proper education system, taking suggestion form the experts, working against beauracracy, corruption, and ensuring political stability for a poverty free Bangladesh.
Significant human activities were started underway in India since the Holocene Period (10,000 years ago) andcivilization also was in progress while Mesopotamia and Egypt have long been recognized in between c.7000- 600 BCE for their celebrated contributions to social and cultural development. A large number of women inIndia are actively engaged in traditional and non-traditional work and seriously contribute to society for overallgrowth and development. However, there are far fewer women than men in the paid workforce. In urban India, women participate in the workforce in impressive numbers, as such only 30 percent in the software industry. This paper had tried to investigate the reasons behind the less number of women involved in the workforce aswell as the Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) in India. All data had been collected from secondarysources and presented via tables and graphs from different angles. It had concluded with somerecommendations to get out from the critical trap regarding women in India
