Development of "Smart grid" present one of global priority with numerous of benefits, which has to be supported and promote by leading industries and governments institutions. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector has to play important role because of development of modern telecommunication. This paper outlines and initially describes smart grid, smart grid architectures and smart grid management, and the crucial role of ICT in smart grid. This paper explain grid optimization, different concept of renewable energy sources and energy storage system used in smart grid, and present telecom hybrid power system as complex element of smart grid.
Abstract. The basic requirements for telecommunication power systems are related to their safety, long life and uninterruptible power (voltage). Power system based on renewable energy, design for power feeding of telecommunication equipment has to fulfill same requirements. The subjects of this paper are ICT impact on environment, energy efficiency and power system based on renewable energy requirements, design, calculation and sizing of its major part: photovoltaic cell, wind turbine, diesel generators and storage battery and "intelligent" control with focus on weather condition and battery status in this kind of system and benefits as: fuel consumption and CO 2 emission reduction and logistic cost decreasing.
Most Service Providers in the telecommunications market are facing the major Business Transformation challenges, such as: -offering a more flexible service choice to the Service Customer, -providing a more Customer involved role in the service, -increasing the quality of communication between the Customer and Service Provider, -increasing service availabilityand providing Customer self-help in telecommunication and -reducing the service operation cost.Customer Self-Service is a way to provide all these benefits for the Customer and to help Service Provider reduce his operation costs. Service Provider's objective will be to reduce service operation costs, but the quality of service has to be enhanced in all aspects. This document provides an overview of Architecture and Principles for the Customer SelfService Management (SSM) in Telecommunications.
