The Serbian version of CFSS-DS questionnaire is reliable and valid psychometric instrument for evaluation of dental fear in Serbian children. Dental anxiety negatively affects dental attendance and oral health of the examined schoolchildren.
Web applications security is one of the most daunting tasks today, because of security shift from lower levels of ISO OSI model to application level, and because of current situation in IT environment. ASP.NET offers powerful mechanisms to render these attacks futile, but it requires some knowledge of implementing Web application security. This paper focuses on attacks against Web applications, either to gain direct benefit by collecting private information or to disable target sites. It describes the two most common Web application attacks: SQL Injection and Cross Site Scripting, and is based on author?s perennial experience in Web application security. It explains how to use ASP.NET to provide Web applications security. There are some principles of strong Web application security which make up the part of defense mechanisms presented: executing with least privileged account, securing sensitive data (connection string) and proper exception handling (where the new approach is presented using ASP.NET mechanisms for centralized exception logging and presentation). These principles help raise the bar that attacker has to cross and consequently contribute to better security.
Oral infections and dental caries are still considered as a serious public health problem. Using the method of minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs), the aim of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effects of 16 plants on the growth of Actinomyces odontolyticus, Streptococcus mitis, Streptococcus sanguinis, Eikenella corrodens, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Lactobacillus acidophilus and Streptococcus mutans. The most effective were ethanol extracts of Rosmarinus officinalis, Salvia officinalis, Thymus vulgaris, Calendula officinalis and Hypericum perforatum. The least efficiency was observed for Acorus calamus extract. Plant extracts could be used in oral health as therapeutic and prophylactic approach or in balancing oral microbiota.
The concept regeneration technique with PRP and with the stimulating influence of platele activated growth factors results in the regeneration of deep periodontal tissue as an important prerequisite for the successfull treatment of gingival recession.
Background/Aim. The shortcomings of the orthopantomography (OPG) method and
radiographic misinterpretations may lead to poor treatment planning and
complications during or after the third molar extraction. The aim of this
study was to determine the validity and reliability of OPG findings
concerning post-extraction wisdom tooth root morphology, as well as whether
the degree of clinical expertise affects assessment accuracy. Methods. The
cross-sectional study included 200 patients who were referred for third
molar extraction. Preoperative OPGs were evaluated by examiners classified
by their level of experience into three groups: students, residents, and
professors. True root morphologies were recorded after the extraction, and
the accuracy of the assessment was evaluated using various statistical
tests. Results. The majority of assessments were accurate for the lower and
upper third molars with a single root. The professor group was the most
accurate when compared to the other two groups (p = 0.0015). Weighted Kappa
values for intra-respondent accuracy gradually increased from the student to
professor group (0.06, 0.28, 0.34, respectively). The highest discrepancy in
inter-respondent accuracy was determined between the student and professor
groups (poor; ?w = 0.25584). Conclusion. In this study are not achieved
results which confirm reliability of panoramic acquisition for detection of
accurate third molars root morphology. The level of clinical experience
affects diagnostic accuracy, but complex clinical cases should be evaluated
by different methods.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
