General image quality of DE-CTA examinations can be substantially improved using the VMI+ algorithm with observer preference of 70 keV, while 40 to 50 keV series provide superior contrast and improved visualization of small arterial branches compared with traditional VMI and standard linearly blended series.
• Mono+ combines increased attenuation with reduced image noise compared to standard DE-CTA. • Mono+ shows superior contrast-to-noise ratios at low keV compared to linearly-blended images. • Contrast-to-noise ratio in monoenergetic DE-CTA peaks at 40 keV. • Mono+ reconstructions significantly improve quantitative image quality at low keV levels.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: CT in low dose technique is the criterion standard imaging modality for evaluation of the paranasal sinus. Our aim was to evaluate the dose-reduction potential of a recently available sinogram-affirmed iterative reconstruction technique, regarding noise, image quality, and time duration when evaluating this region.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
