The Survey Practice Course is a new course run at the Queensland University of Technology in conjunction with the Association of Consulting Surveyors and the Surveyors Board of Queensland. The establishment of the course is discussed and the first year of operation is reviewed. The results of two independent evaluations are included. IntroductionIn 1982, just prior to the crEC study into Surveying and Mapping Education and Training in Queensland, the Surveyors Board expressed concern for the existing arrangements for registration/licensing and passed a resolution to take whatever steps were necessary to improve the situation. The experience, projects and assessment procedures were seen to be inadequate in many respects and the Board itself, assisted by the CTEC Study, sought an alternative.
