We report the case of a 24-year-old woman with HIV-seropositivity, who developed a clinical picture of pseudotumor cerebri, an association not previously described. The patient improved with the use of acetazolamide. We suggest the possible existence of this disorder in HIV-infected patients with persistent headaches, visual deficits and/or extraocular muscle palsies.
This paper presents the results of a condition based maintenance system using a new fault location technique based on voltage dip measurements. Hydro-Québec (HQ) named this system MILES for Maintenance and Investigation of LIneS. The technique used was presented in previous CIRED publications in 2007 and 2011 as the Voltage Drop-based Fault Location (VDFL) technique. So far, the MILES system has shown a very good potential for permanent and temporary-fault location on overhead radial distribution system and has been deployed on 40 feeders located mainly at HQ and also at two other Canadian utilities.
Distribution network planners are facing a strong shift in the way they plan and analyze the network. With their intermittent nature, the introduction of distributed energy resources (DER) calls for yearly or at least seasonal analysis, which is in contrast to the current practice of analyzing only the highest demand point of the year. It requires not only a large number of simulations but long-term simulations as well. These simulations require significant computational and human resources that not all utilities have available. This article proposes a nonlinear clustering methodology to find a handful of representative medium voltage (MV) distribution feeders for DER penetration studies. It is shown that the proposed methodology is capable of uncovering nonlinear relations between features, resulting in more consistent clusters. Obtained results are compared to the most common linear clustering algorithms.
