In th%s study, an organ%c-%norgan%c hybr%d mater%al was f%rst prepared by the sol-gel method. 3-am%nopropyltr%ethoxys%lane (3-APTES) and tr%decafluorooctyltr%ethoxys%lane (Evon%k F 8261) were used as precursors. The s%lane coupl%ng agents were d%ssolved %n a m%xture of water, decane and hydrochlor%c ac%d for 2 hours. Soda-l%me glass substrates were coated w%th the s%lane-based coat%ng solut%on w%th the a%d of a f%lm appl%cator. The coated f%lms were dr%ed %n an oven at 80°C to allow alcohol, organ%c solvent and excess water to evaporate from the f%lms. After evaporat%on of the solvents, the samples were character%zed by contact angle, FT-IR, SEM, gon%ometer, l%ght transm%ttance, haze and gloss meter. Superhydrophob%c surface was successfully obta%ned from 3 APTES/tr%decafluorooctyltr%ethoxys%lane hybr%d compounds.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
