In the title compound, [PdCl(2)(C(20)H(26)O(2)S(2))], the Pd atom has a distorted square-planar coordination geometry, with Pd-S distances of 2.3121 (18) and 2.3102 (18) A, Pd-Cl distances of 2.291 (2) and 2.314 (2) A, and S-Pd-Cl angles of 94.98 (7) and 86.25 (7) degrees. Upon complexation, an 11-membered ring is formed by the S-Pd-S linkage in the ligand chain.
The preparation and crystal structure of the title compound, cis-dichloro [6,9-dioxa-3,12-dithiabicyclo[12.4.0]octadeca-14,-16,18(1)-triene-S,S H ]palladium(II), [PdCl 2 (C 14 H 20 O 2 S 2 )], are described. The Pd atom has a square-planar environment, coordinated to two S atoms of the dithiadioxa macrocycle and to two Cl À ions. The non-coordinating O atoms are oriented away from the metal coordination plane. Upon complexation, a bicyclic chelate structure, which consists of a seven-and an eleven-membered ring, is formed.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
