Background: Chronic atopic eczema is not regarded as a precursor of malignancy, and, to our knowledge, there has been only one previous case report of CD30 + cutaneous lymphoma in association with atopic dermatitis.Observations: We report 4 cases of CD30 + lymphoproliferative disease in young adult patients with active atopic eczema dating from early childhood. Three patients developed primary cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma, of whom 2 developed systemic disease and 1 died. The other patient developed lymphomatoid papulosis type A, which resolved after withdrawal of cyclosporine therapy. No other patient had received immunosuppressive therapy.
Our results have shown one historical feature and three clinical features to be strongly associated with onychomycosis. The questionnaire has been revised to include only these stems and is being tested further with the aim of achieving a binary definition.
This study was undertaken to ascertain the histopathology and aetiology of cutaneous nodules observed in Parkinson's patients treated with continuous subcutaneous apomorphine. Ten patients were recruited, answered questionnaires, and underwent skin biopsies and full blood count, and nine were patch tested to apomorphine and its preservative. Six had serum IgE levels measured. A florid panniculitis was seen in all biopsies; five were predominantly eosinophilic, three lymphocytic and two neutrophilic; in seven cases the panniculitis was mixed and in three it was septal. Patch testing was universally negative and the IgE levels were normal.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
