In this paper, a fuzzy adaptive multiuser detector in code-division multiple access (CDMA) communication systems is proposed. This study is motivated by the work with fuzzy adaptive equalization techniques based on fuzzy IF-THEN rules. The proposed detector can be adapted via linear adaptation algorithm under the minimum mean squared error (MMSE) criterion even when the system environment is either unknown or changing. The bit error rate of the proposed detector is compared with those of the optimum detector, the conventional detector and the multilayer perceptron detector. The simulation results show that the proposed detector is very robust against the strength of interfering signals and its performance is comparable to that of the optimum detector.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
