Mesiodens describes a supernumerary tooth located between the central incisors in the midline region of the maxilla. It represents 80% of supernumerary teeth. The etiology of supernumerary teeth is still unclear, may be associated with genetic and environmental factors and due to hyperactivity of the dental lamina. The diagnosis is usually made through clinical and radiographic exams. These developmental changes are quite noticeable in young patients and school children and have been cited as a result of bullying. The objective of this study is to report the clinical case of a pediatric patient with affected self-esteem due to the presence of conoid mesiodens in the maxilla. The clinical knowledge of the professional about dental anomalies in different periods of dentition will result in early diagnosis and consequently avoid future complications, favoring an excellent prognosis.
